Description

A sepia photograph of the interior of the San Xavier del Bac mission church. According to the backside description, the church was commenced in 1768 and was run by the Tohono O'Odham after the mission was abandoned by the Franciscans and Jesuits in 1826. The interior contains fresco art and statues. The back side of the mounted photograph contains a more thorough description of the church. The photograph was taken sometime between the 1880s and 1900s.
